Jacquelyn Jo Marshall

June 3, 1945 ~ April 8, 2019

Jacquelyn Jo Marshall passed suddenly and much too soon April 8, 2019. She was born June 3, 1945, in Hemet, California, to Joe and Bonnie Ruth Termine. Along with sister Lynn, she spent her childhood living in or travelling to spectacular locations up and down the Eastern Sierra Nevada, wherever her trucker/cowboy dad found work.

By the age of 24, Jackie had endured the deaths of two husbands, Gary Rankin and Lloyd Clifton, and was raising her two children in Lone Pine, California. During this time she met and married Terryl Marshall. They lived in Lone Pine until 1981, when she relocated to Vale, Oregon, to be near her parents and begin a new chapter in life.

From her upbringing, she knew survival in “the far east of Oregon” meant working at what was available. She did, and was variously employed by Jamieson Produce, Producers Livestock, the Welcome Inn and Golden Slipper. The constants in her life were her family, her love for cooking and her passion for birds. She was happiest in her kitchen, cooking for whomever might be sitting at her table. Her graciousness nurtured a family of close friends she always held dear.

An avid and knowledgeable birder, she enjoyed observing in her own yard, on countless roadtrips everywhere and planned excursions to wildlife refuges around the northwest.

Regardless of where she lived or what was going on in her life, her door was always open for love and comfort. Everyone left feeling cared for, happier and well fed. Jacquelyn is survived by beloved granddaughter Adel Clifton; daughter JulieAnn Clifton and partner Michael Wellborn; son Kenneth Clifton and partner Joani Ragan; sister Lynn Termine; her loving, longtime partner Tom Hurd and her special family.

Join in sharing memories at a celebration of her life June 8 at Wadleigh Park in Vale. BYOB, finger food and bottled water provided.
