Ontario’s Crow receives honor from state community college association

SALEM – The Oregon Community Colleges Association honored a Treasure Valley Community College board member Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Stephen Crow, an Ontario business owner, was one of three college people across the state to earn the Howard Cherry Award. Crow was cited as a board member.
According to a press release from the Oregon Community College Association, the award celebrates local advocates, administrators and board members’ contributions to benefit community colleges.
Crow has been on the Treasure Valley Community College Board since 2017 and owns Salon Salon And The Spa in Ontario.
The association said in its announcement that Crow’s colleagues were impressed by his ability to balance his responsibilities while continuing to give his all to the board.
The statement said that Crow “is an advocate for student success and has been a generous supporter in the work of the TVCC Foundation because he understands the obstacles that students face when paying for school. It is rare when he is unable to attend or support a college-sponsored event, whether it is athletics, a campus fair, student-sponsored event, or theater performance.”
His passion and belief that an educated workforce leads to a better community is unsurpassed.
