KLAMATH FALLS – The Jordan Valley volleyball team took a hard fall last Saturday to Hosanna Christian, ending state title hopes. The Mustangs played in four sets but only won in one. The scores were 25-23, 22-25, 25-9, 26-16, with the Lions advancing to the next round.

For Jordan Valley, Reagan Skinner and Nicole Tary had seven kills. Meanwhile, Tayler Eiguren had eight assists. Emilee Burch and Tary each had three blocks.

“Hosanna Christian was a really good team,” said Coach Tracy Skinner. The Mustangs started off strong and kept it tight during the first two sets. Although they lost to the Lions in the first set, they picked up their game in the second and won. However, the Lions came back to blow it open in the next two sets.

“It was exciting to see girls get out there,” Skinner said. Skinner said it’s disappointing to not make it to state championships, but she’s still happy with the efforts her girls showed over the past weeks.

“I’m so proud of the girls,” she said. “We had a great season this year.”

The Lady Mustangs graduate five seniors: Skyler Forsythe, Nicole Terry, Cassity Gluch, Taylor Warn and Regann Skinner.

Jordan Valley capped the season undefeated in league with an overall record of 15-8. They were also district champions, which gave them a first round bye that took them to their first state playoff at Klamath Falls.
