Glenn Conrad Herman

March 23, 1931 ~ October 13, 2020

Glenn Conrad Herman, 89, of Aurora, Oregon, passed away at his home on Oct. 13, 2020.

Glenn was born March 23, 1931, in Spokane, Washington, to Conrad and Aileen Herman. Glenn was raised and went to school in Canby, Oregon; graduated from Canby Union High School in 1949, and served in the Air Force from January 1951 to December 1954. After discharge, he returned to Canby, Oregon, working for International Harvester Company and then Chrysler Motor Company while also farming 40 acres in the Macksburg, Oregon area.

In 1978 Glenn and his wife, Karen, together with their three youngest sons, moved to his dream farm of 900 acres in Little Valley, Oregon, living there 17 years, until downsizing and moving to Bend in 1995, where they lived until moving to Aurora, Oregon, in 2014, where he lived until his passing.

He loved family, fishing, hunting, farming and daredevil activities, including skydiving when he was 88, air-to-air dogfighting, and a NASCAR ride along.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, of 53 years, seven children, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister and brother.

Thanks to Legacy Hospice for their excellent care. We hope to gather at a later date for a celebration of Glenn’s life.
