VALE – The Vale Book Club begins a new season this week, meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the home of Carol Spears, 683 Cottage St. S.
Each member will share information about a book from their summer reading, which will be summarized for future use.
Following is the schedule and book picks for the 2019-2020 season. Books are obtained at the Vale City Emma Humphrey Library through the Sage Library Network.
2019 meetings
Oct. 3 – “The Martian” by Andy Weir. Twilla Hayden will facilitate the session.
Nov. 7 – “Never Caught: The Washingtons’ Relentless Pursuit of their Runaway Slave” by Erica Dunbar. Lucy Hutchens will facilitate.
Dec. 4 – “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens.
2020 meetings
Jan. 9 – “Thursdays at 8” by Debbie McCombre. Theda Craig will facilitate.
Feb. 6 – “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles.
March 5 – “Educated” by Tara Westover. Marge Mitchell will facilitate.
April 2 – “House Rules” by Jody Picoult.
May 7 – “Women Talking” by Mirium Toews. Brandi Lund will facilitate.
