Vale last local school alive in state playoffs

Here’s where matters stand in OSAA football playoff action:

Vale beat Burns 36-14 Saturday in Burns. The Vikings advance to the seminfinals in a match against No. 1 Rainier. Rainier beat Clatskanie 18-7 and is the only undefeated team in the state’s 3A ranks. The teams will face off at 4 p.m. Saturday in Hermiston. In the other semifinal action that day, Amity will meet Cascade Christian in a game to be played in Cottage Grove.

In other 3A action, Nyssa feel to No. 2 Amity 58-13.

In 1A action, Adrian-Jordan Valley lost to Hosanna Christian 46-36.
