La Grande defeats Ontario 8-0 in girls soccer action

ONTARIO – The Ontario girls soccer team lost 8-0 to La Grande on Saturday at the Alameda Elementary School soccer field.

“We only have a couple seasoned players on the team. They’re a pretty young team,” said Stacey Captein, Ontario coach. “But they did a good job.” The Tigers are rebuilding this year and learning how to work together, players said.

“I think we actually worked a lot better as a team,” said goalkeeper Maya Luna. She’s one of the two seniors who have played the longest on varsity.
