For the Enterprise

Congratulations and well done to the board of the Nyssa Nite Rodeo. This dedicated group has worked diligently to continue the tradition of the rodeo, now celebrating 71 years.

Also congratulations to Dani Alvarado who was crowned queen on Saturday night.

It was great to see all the horses on Main Street during Saturday’s parade. Leading the parade were grand marshals David and Carla Robbins, riding in a beautiful black coach pulled by a matched team of horses.

Thank you to Mike Beavers for providing a ride for David and Carla.

• Welcome to the NHS Class of 1966, as they gather to celebrate their 50th class reunion this Friday and Saturday, June 24-25.

• The Nyssa Senior Center hosts a dance from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, June 25. The center is located at 316 Good Ave.

• New business in town! Welcome to Wyatt Wood and Mike Garrett as they open Owyhee Metal Works at 326 S. 1st St.

Both Wyatt and Mike started welding as high school students involved in FFA. They have continued their craft while working at other jobs, doing repairs for themselves as well as others. Their new business will offer repairs, fabrication and design/prototype work. With a background in agriculture, they are well versed in the needs of area farmers.

Stop by and welcome them to the Nyssa business community.

• With the end of June fast approaching, those who want to participate in the Nyssa Library summer reading program have just one month left to be involved. There are activities each week, prizes and events.

Stop by the library and pick up a summer reading calendar.
