VALE – Umpqua Bank will close its branches in Vale and Nyssa by Nov. 21 the company announced last week.
“Our Vale and Nyssa stores will be consolidated into our Ontario store,” Kurt Heath, a spokesman for Umpqua Bank wrote in an email to the Enterprise.
Heath said the bank will also serve its area customers “through a variety of other means, including our Umpqua Go-To banking platform.”
That system “allows local customers to choose a personal banker devoted to their banking needs and who can help with most all transactions,” wrote Heath.
Heath said banking associates at the two branches will be moved to the Ontario bank.
“Customers will see familiar faces when they visit the store. Additionally, we’ll have community development officer actively engaged in Vale, Nyssa and communities throughout Malheur County,” Heath said.
According to the Malheur County Assessor’s Office, the Umpqua Bank in Vale – at 150 Longfellow St. – is owned by Pioneer Bank, a Roswell, N.M. corporation.
Total assessed value of the building was $576,090 in 2018.
Umpqua Bank owns its building in Nyssa, which had an assessed value of $482,882 in 2018. The Nyssa Umpqua bank is at 217 Main St.
