Vale’s 4th of July Rodeo, Oregon Trail Days offer packed schedule

Ready to celebrate the 4th of July? Vale has plenty to do over the coming week, with a full schedule of rodeo shows and community festivities.

Monday, July 1

6 p.m. Grand Marshal BBQ, Wadleigh Park. Honoring 2019 Grand Marshals Rick and Sheryl Johnson. Cost: $5 per person, 5& under, free.

Tuesday, July 2

6 p.m. Rodeo Slack. Free Admission.

Wednesday-Saturday, July 3-6

Vale 4th of July Rodeo

Rodeo shows: 7 p.m. Pre-rodeo, 7:45 p.m. Grand Entry, 8 p.m. Main event.

Special events: Suicide Race at 8 p.m. Friday. Queen Coronation at Saturday rodeo.

Thursday, July 4

7 a.m. – 10 a.m. – Lions Club Breakfast, Wadleigh Park.

8 a.m. – 4th of July Fun Run, sponsored by Vale High School cross country team, starts at Wadleigh Park.

8 a.m. – 12 p.m. –Car Show, Wadleigh Park

11 a.m.-6 p.m. – Vendors, food booths, Wadleigh Park.

1-4 p.m. – Water and Pool Games, Vale City Pool.

5 p.m. Parade – Begins at Vale High School, down A Street, ending at Wadleigh Park. Theme: Love Where You Live.

6 p.m. – Community Picture, Vale Middle School alumni, at VMS.

9 p.m. – A Street’s Street Dance, on A Street between Malheur Drug and Mal’s Diner.

Friday, July 5

11 a.m. – Dunked for Jay, Mechanical Bull, Vendors & Food Booths.

1-4 p.m. – Water and Pool games, Vale City Pool.

1-5 p.m. – Book Sale, Vale Library.

8 p.m. – Vale Rodeo Suicide Race

6 p.m. – Apron Sewing Class, ExZacht Sewing.

9 p.m. – A Street’s Street Dance, on A Street between Malheur Drug and Mal’s Diner.

Saturday, July 6

8 a.m.- 6 p.m. – Christmas in July Bazaar and ice cream social, Vale Grange.

8 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Quilt Show, winners announced at 1 p.m., Wadleigh Park.

8:30 a.m. – 4×4 Volleyball Tournament, Vale High School.

9 a.m. – Dog Show sponsored by Vale Vet Clinic, Wadleigh Park.

9 a.m. – Viking Pillage and Plunder, Wadleigh Park.

11 a.m.-6 p.m. – Vendors, food booths, Wadleigh Park.

2 p.m.  – Stick Horse Race, Wadleigh Park.

8 p.m. – Vale Rodeo Queen Coronation.
