Art, music and more on tap in Malheur County

MALHEUR CITY: The annual potluck and decoration event at the cemetery in Malheur City has been rescheduled to this Sunday, June 2. The event starts at 1 p.m. Call Nick Eddy, 208-739-1647 for information.

• SPRING CONCERT: “Life has Loveliness” will feature the Treasure Valley Chorale and TVCC Concert Choir, directed by Gretchen Longwell. The event will be at 7:30 p.m. June 7 in the Meyer-McLean Theatre at 676 S.W. 5th Ave., Ontario. Admission is $5, or $3 for senior citizens, and $1 for TVCC students. The ticket office opens at 6:45 p.m., and doors open at 7 p.m.

• WELLNESS: The annual Spring into Wellness health fairs wrap up June 13 from 3-6 p.m. at the Vale Hotel.

More than 25 agencies dealing with health and wellness are participating in the fairs, offering information and health screenings. The fairs are presented by Malheur County Community Advisory Council in conjunction with Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization, Saint Alphonsus Medical Center, and Valley Family Health Care.

• GARDEN ART: A garden sculpture exhibit will run from Friday, May 31, through July 31 at the Hikaru Mizu Japanese Garden of Four Rivers Cultural Center. Admission is free. Sculptures and metal artwork by Pattie Young will be showcased in the 1.3-acre garden.

• DANCING: Live After 5 in the Garden, the outdoor concert series, returns to the Four Rivers Cultural Center with the Chaz Browne Group on June 12. The concerts are held in the Hikaru Mizu Japanese Garden, with music, dancing and refreshments available.
