School may be out but reading’s still in at Nyssa Library

NYSSA – Congratulations to the Class of 2019!

With school ending, it’s time to jump into summer reading to keep those reading skills sharp. A Universe of Stories is the theme for summer reading with a number of activities planned for readers of all ages.

Stop by the library, pick up a schedule and get signed up for summer reading. June 4 is the blast off date with prizes for reaching goals as you explore the planets. Building Healthy Families will present a free space themed movie on June 12 and June 19 starting at 2 p.m.

• June starts off with a monthly dance at the Nyssa Senior Center from 6-9 p.m. Saturday. The Dale Borge Band provides the tunes, everyone is asked to bring something for the potluck. On June 4 the foot clinic is held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center, 316 Good Ave.

Each month there are a number of activities at the center, including bingo on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. with lunch at noon. Lunch is also served at noon on Thursdays with Senior Game Night at 6:30 p.m. No reservations needed, just come on down and join the fun!
