Ann Kindschy will be the speaker at the Thursday, March 14, meeting of the Malheur Country Historical Society.
She will speak about her Laurance and McElroy ancestors coming to Oregon and how they connect to this area of Malheur County.
The meeting will be in Room 10, Weese Building on the Treasure Valley College campus in Ontario. Lunch is available at 11:30 and the program starts about noon.
Clinic holds open house
Treasure Valley Women and Family Medicine will hold an open house from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the clinic, 1219 S.W. 4th Ave., Suite No. 2.
The event celebrates the clinic joining the group of clinics operated by Valley Family Health Care. The public is invited.
Ontario chamber gala set
The annual Ontario Area Chamber of Commerce gala, ONTCCY, will be held Friday, with social time and a silent auction at 5 p.m. and dinner following at 6 p.m. with a live auction.
The event will be at Four Rivers Cultural Center, Ontario.

Brogan cooks for St. Pat’s
The Brogan Community Center will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this Sunday with its third annual Corned Beef & Cabbage Feed from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will feature an all-you-can-eat buffet, silent auction and a raffle. Meals cost $25 for families, $7 for adults, $5 for children and free for kids 4 years and under. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each, or five for $25.
Those who wear green to the event get a free raffle ticket.
Music heralds spring
The Treasure Valley Community College Music Departments presents two concerts for the public this month at Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario.
Goin’ Home, Musical Reflections on the Journey Home, will feature the Treasure Valley Chorale and TVCC Concert Choir at 7:30 p.m. this Thursday. Tickets cost $5 general admission, $3 for seniors and $1 for TVCC students.
Winter Notes, showcasing the college’s Intermediate Band and Wind Symphony and Jazz Band, will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19. The program is free to area veterans and $3 for others.
The concerts will be in the Meyer-McLean Theater, 676 S.W. 5th Ave. The box office opens at 6:45 p.m. on concert night, with ticket sales by cash or check only.
