Nyssa gives kudos to banquet organizers

The 2019 Nyssa Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture annual Honors Banquet and Auction was a wonderful event for Nyssa.

Beautifully decorated tables (thank you table sponsors), a delicious dinner (hats off to the cooks), and wonderful auction items (thank you donors) all combined for a great evening topped off with honoring those who give so much to our community. Awesome job, chamber board and helpers!

Now, it’s on to Thunderegg Days.

If you can’t wait for Thunderegg Days for rocks, the Owyhee Gem and Mineral Society will hold its 65th annual Rock & Gem Show March 2-3 at the O’Connor Field House in Caldwell, Idaho. Admission is $4, and kids age 11 and under get in for free with paid adult admission. Doors open at 10 a.m. both days.

• The Nyssa Senior Center is the place to be on Saturday for the monthly dance. The Dale Borge Band provides the tunes. The dance is held from 6-9 p.m. Please bring finger food snacks to share.

On Tuesday, March 5, the foot clinic takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• If you haven’t purchased your supply of Girl Scout cookies, Nyssa Girl Scouts will be selling cookies on Saturday at Nyssa Les Schwab, M&W Markets and in Ontario at Pilot. Get your supply of cookies and support Girl Scouts!

• Science is Fun will be held at the Nyssa Library on March 6 from 3:15-5pm. This hands-on activity is geared toward elementary and middle school students.
