Ontario adventurers talk to youth

ONTARIO – Two friends from Ontario who have gone on to become international travelers, speakers and filmmakers will be featured at the Nov. 7 Emerging Leaders Summit at Treasure Valley Community College.

Justin Skeesuck and Patrick Gray will share their story of traveling the Camino de Santiago, in northern Spain. They made the trek despite Justin’s challenges from a neuromuscular disorder that impairs the use of his arms and legs.

The Summit includes activities that aim to provide inspiration for college and high school students, urging them to overcome obstacles toward a successful future.

“Students are shown resources for their success, avenues for their future, and we always have a lot of fun along the way,” said Chase Van Weerdhuizen, a member of the summit steering committee.

The nonprofit Four Rivers Healthy Community hosts the event, which will be in TVCC’s gymnasium. There will be prizes including scholarships, music, coffee drinks and more.
