VALE – A chili feed is set for Friday to benefit Axel Barnes.
The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Vale High School cafeteria. Raffle tickets will be available for a $750 gift certificate from Malheur Drug.
Axel, a 7-year-old first-grade student at Vale Elementary, sustained a severe head trauma in an accident Oct. 15. The benefit is intended to help his family during a projected long recovery process.
There also is an online silent auction. Bidders can go to the Barnes Family Fundraiser Facebook page to participate. Bids will be taken up to noon Saturday.
