Book club picks titles, Vale alumni get together

VALE – The Vale Book Club is ready for its new season, with a slate of eight books selected to read and discuss.

The club, which resumes meetings in September after the summer break, is open to a limited number of new members.

Meetings are at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the home of Carol Spears, 683 Cottage St., in Vale.

The books are provided by the Vale library so there is no cost for books. They are available in both hardback and paperback, as well as large print and often audio books.

Members take turns facilitating discussions and locating discussion material online to keep the discussions more focused.
