It’s rodeo time!

The 73rd Annual Nyssa Nite Rodeo takes place this week at the Oregon Trail Arena.

Slack is on Thursday, with the main event rodeo on Friday and Saturday. Pre-rodeo events start at 7 p.m. with the grand entry starting the main show at 8.

With traditional rodeo events, new events like novice saddle bronc, bareback and ranch bronc as well as the always popular Wild Cow Milking, the rodeo will be an event you won’t want to miss.

A Buckaroos Breakfast will be served from 7-11 a.m. Saturday at the Nyssa Senior Citizens Center. The menu is pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs and ham – all for $5 for adults and $3 for kids under age 8. This is a fundraiser for the Nyssa Senior Center and the Nyssa Community Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.

• The Nyssa Church of the Nazarene will be at South Park, located at South 5th and Reece during the school lunch program June 18 to 22. They will be doing a mini-vacation Bible school for the kids in the park, with a craft and a story color page.

• Attention quilters! Your beautiful quilts, home décor and wearable art are needed at the Thunderegg Days Quilt Show to be held inside Mac Hall in July. Entry forms will be available at Country Corners Quilting and Marilynn’s Pickets and Patchwork.
