NYSSA – Nyssa High School’s 76 graduating seniors will share the spotlight at commencement at 1 p.m. Sunday at the school.
The Class of 2018 will be led by three top students.
Valedictorian Savanna Kesler plans to work on her family’s farm this summer and then leave on an Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission in the fall. On her return, she will attend Utah State University and major in interior design with a minor in business.
Daughter of Scott and Brenda Kesler, she has been active in FFA, FBLA, Honor Society, tennis, track, soccer, and volleyball.
Valedictorian Garrett Stoneman also is headed for an LDS mission in the fall and then will attend the University of Utah and major in engineering. He would like eventually to return to the area and use his degree to innovate a better future.
Son of Don Stoneman and Darci Jennings, he has been active in FFA, FBLA, National Honor Society, track and field, football management, band, basketball, and student council.
Salutatorian Sailor Hartley, daughter of Michael and Sheila Hartley, is set to graduate from TVCC with an associate’s degree in June. She plans to work on her family’s farm this summer and then attend Brigham Young University and major in entrepreneurial management. Her plans include an LDS mission at age 19, followed by finishing her degree.
She has been active in FFA, FBLA, Honor Society, student council, soccer, cross country, basketball, track and field, and is a state champion pole vaulter.
