VALE – The last day to order a California sushi roll at Ogawa’s in Vale will be Friday.
After serving patrons from a food trailer in the parking lot of Perk Beverage Company for the last six months, owner Tom Houston said continuing the operation is not financially viable.
“I want to thank all the great people in Vale for their support of the business and thank Joe Standage for the great relationship between the two businesses,” Houston said.
Houston, also the owner of Ogawa’s in Ontario, said the Ontario location is doing well and welcomes Vale fans to make the short trip for a sushi craving.Ah, Spring Break! I hope everyone has a safe and fun break from school.

This Saturday is the date for a blood drive at Nyssa Elementary School’s Mac Hall. The hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can stop in without an appointment, or visit redcrossblood.org to set a time convenient for your schedule.
Saturday is also the date for area Easter egg hunts. See page 3 for a schedule of the hunts and locations.
• This Sunday is Easter with many churches holding special services. For Nyssa Christian Fellowship, at South 5th and Ennis Avenue, Sunday morning service starts at 10:30 a.m. with children’s church for age 4 through fifth grade, and a well-baby nursery for children up through 3 years of age. After worship there will be a “Resurrection Egg” hunt for children.
At Nyssa Church of the Nazarene, 5th and Good Avenue, there will be a Maundy Thursday Tenebrae communion service at 7 p.m. this Thursday. Sunday’s schedule has a breakfast potluck in lieu of Sunday school starting at 9:30 a.m., with the worship service at 11 a.m.
• The monthly foot clinic at Nyssa Senior Center will be on Tuesday, April 2, starting at 8:30 a.m.
On Saturday, April 7, the seniors will have a dance from 6-9 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a dish or finger food to share.

• State Rep. Lynn Findley, R-Vale, will be holding several town hall meetings in April to discuss issues important to voters and working on solutions.
Findley will be in Jordan Valley at the Lions Club Community Hall on Thursday, April 5; Ontario, at Four Rivers Cultural Center, on Wednesday, April 18; and Vale, at Chavelita’s, on Wednesday, April 25.
All of the meetings start at 6 p.m.
• The Vale FFA is taking orders for berries as a fundraiser.
Five-pound bags of frozen strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and marionberries are $18, while boysenberries are $22. The berries will be available for pick up Friday, April 6, at the Logan’s parking lot in Vale.
