Plenty of local holiday events slated

The Enterprise

Fill out your gift list, grab a homemade treat, and maybe find something for yourself at one of the largest holiday bazaars in the area opening Friday at the Malheur County Fairgrounds.
At least 60 crafters, bakers and other artisans will have booths at fair-hosted event. The event grew so large this year that Fair Manager Lynelle Christiani has ordered in an extra tent to house it all.
The bazaar is among days of holiday festivities around Malheur County the next few days.
The fairgrounds bazaar opens at 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday and closes at 6 p.m. The bazaar returns the next weekend with the same hours on Friday, Dec. 8, and Saturday, Dec. 9.
Photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be offered on Fridays, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Hand crafted” is a big part of the goods for sale. Kathy Olsen will be there with crochet monkey puppets, Paul Atwood brings hand crafted jewelry boxes, and Christine Hood will have hand crafted Christmas decorations.
There will be kids’ books, camping cookware, primitive dolls, fresh holiday arrangements, and lighted garlands.
Door prizes will be awarded hourly along with food booths available.
