Erma Mae Tschida
Aug. 15, 1929 – Nov. 3, 2017
Erma Mae Tschida, 88, of Ontario, Oregon, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 of natural causes.
Erma was born August 15, 1929 in Malbeta, Nebraska, to John and Helen Girvin.  Her family moved to Vale, Oregon, in 1937, where she graduated from Vale High School in 1947.
Erma married Leo Tschida from the Ontario Heights area on December 22, 1948, where they raised seven children and had a dairy operation. She was a stay-home mom until their children where grown and the cows sold; she then started a new adventure working outside of the home.
With her experience cooking on a farm, Erma went to work for the 8-C School district as a cook at Cairo and Aiken School, where she made many delicious meals for the children. She was also a member of St. Mary Altar Society ministry, and after Leo passed away, Erma started volunteering her time at the Little Red House on Saturdays.
Erma is survived by five sons and two daughters: Mary Apadaca (James), David Tschida (Glenda), Dan Tschida (Jan), Tom Tschida (Pam), Linda Rowe (Doug), Allan Tschida (Denise), Donald Tschida (Carol), twenty- three grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, her brother, Rusty Girvin, her sister, Bonnie Magnuson, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, her infant daughter Anna Mae, her brothers, Blaine Girvin, and Robert Girvin; her sisters, Margaret Ross, and Thelma Marcum.
Rosary will be held Wednesday, November 8, at 6 p.m.at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Mass will be held Thursday, November 9, at 1 p.m. Vault Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery. Craig Roy Johnson
Aug. 5, 1957 – Oct. 287, 2017
Craig Roy Johnson, 60, of Fruitland, Idaho passed away peacefully at home Saturday, October 28, 2017. He was born at Holy Rosary in Ontario, Oregon August 5, 1957 to Irene and Alan Johnson.
He was raised in Fruitland, and graduated from Fruitland High School, class of 1976. That same year, he married the love of his life, Darlyne Gerulf. Ten years later, the pair proudly welcomed a son, Shawn Johnson. Craig enjoyed a lifetime of hard work, and serving our community as a farmer. Craig most enjoyed fishing, camping, and smiling.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
