VALE – Vale City Manager Lynn Findley has decided to retire effective next March.

“It is just that time,” said Findley. “I am 65 years old and just want some time to relax.”

Even with his announcement, Findley intends to see some projects to completion.

“I will remain active in the community,” Findley said. “I will remain on the trans load board and I want to see through the work done on the Vale water project and Farmers Fresh coming to Vale.”

Findley started as city manager in June 2013 and runs city operations day to day. He reports to the Vale City Council.

Prior to accepting the city manager position, Findley was employed for 32 years with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, retiring as a senior aviation manager.

Findley graduated from Vale High School in 1970, going on to graduate from Treasure Valley Community College.

“I plan on spending some time fishing and spending time with my family,” he said. “I want to thank the city council and the employees of the city of Vale for the time I have been here.”
