Key stories about life in Malheur

Good morning.

Some of our most popular stories lately have been stories about winners – those who are honored by the community, those involved in successful local programs.

The report about the family behind Ultimate Lawn Care was liked by hundreds. The family-run business will be honored as Business of the Year at the annual banquet of the Ontario Area Chamber of Commerce, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 13.

And the story about inmates at Snake River Correctional Institution learning how to run heavy equipment went wide on social media with thousands reading Pat Caldwell’s story.

This is all part of reporting on Malheur County for you.

Here’s the latest on all this and more from your team at the Malheur Enterprise.

Sabi is ready for a new home but for now lives at the Ontario Feral Cat Project shelter in Ontario. (Submitted photo)

Weekly feature: Attitude is fine, right?

Sabi is a sassy 1 1/2 year old female. She has a little cattitude, which we think makes her even more irresistible. She LOVES feather toys, laser lights and our giant wheel in the cage -ree room. She gets along with the other kitties in the room but just gets a little bossy from time to time. Who can blame her…. just look at that face!!

Sabi has been at the shelter for 10 months. She is neutered, UTD on vaccinations and tested negative for FeLV & FIV.

She is indoor only for his safety. No declawing is allowed..

Come meet Sabi on Saturday to see if you have found your newest family member.

SATURDAY ADOPTION EVENT: Every Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Constance McCullough House, 84 N.W. 2nd St. in Ontario.
