Don’t miss these local news stories

Good morning…..

So, next week is big for Vale – it’s Bob Bement’s 89th birthday.

You may not be aware that Bob, a Vale Viking to his bone and in the Hall of Fame, doesn’t pull on a party hat and blow out candles to celebrate.

No, he climbs into his trusty Cessna 182 out at the Vale Airport and flies above the main streets in downtown Vale. People stand along the sidewalks and wave as he wings by.

The flight’s planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, followed by cupcakes and more at Heavenly Treasured Oils, 192 A St. E.

Put a little community spirit into your life and join others to help Bob celebrate in style.
