The latest from the Malheur Enterprise

Good morning……

At the Enterprise, we work hard to deliver a news service that truly meets the community’s needs. We are determined to be fair, accurate and, when necessary, tough in our pursuit of the truth.

Across Oregon, more communities are going without their newspaper.

Earlier this year, newspapers in eastern Oregon stopped publishing – in La Grande, Baker City, Hermiston, John Day and Enterprise. Then the paper serving St. Helens, along the Columbia River, folded. Now, the paper covering the farm town of Brownsville in the Willamette Valley is going dark.

In some places, options have emerged – all-digital news sources helping fill the gap. The digital work of the Enterprise is an example of how that works.

I expect to read of more newspapers in Oregon folding. At the Enterprise, we’re going strong. That’s in large measure because so many of you put your trust in us.

The biggest step you can take to help is to subscribe if you don’t already.

our trained reporters bring you stories based on interviews, public documents and statements. We don’t charge you to read press releases put out by the government. That’s not journalism. For $7.50 a month, you can get our digital service and keep up every day with news that is most important to you. The process is secure and takes just a couple of moments.

Ready? Go HERE to subscribe – and thank you!
