The latest from the Malheur Enterprise

Good morning and we’re glad you are with us.

As the number of reporters at work in eastern Oregon continues to shrink, the Enterprise feels even more keenly its duty to be a watchdog. We’re determined to keep a close eye on public officials. Many of devoted to good public service, whether paid or as volunteers.

But others take advantage of their public position or don’t fulfill their duties to you and other taxpayers.

This isn’t easy work. It’s expensive, it takes time and it must be done with great care to ensure accuracy and fairness.

As long as we’re around, we’ll be there for you, Malheur County – and for eastern Oregon.

Meantime, here’s what we’ve covered in recent days to give you stories you won’t find anywhere else.
