The latest from the Malheur Enterprise

Good morning and we’re glad you are with us.

There’s an interesting question in Vale: Who will be the next mayor?

Tom Vialpando, the incumbent, has opted not to seek another term, citing plans that would take his family out of Vale.

Reporters Pat Caldwell and Steven Mitchell took a look at city politics to bring you up to speed on who’s running for office in Vale, Ontario and Nyssa. As they report, the deadline to get on the ballot looms.

Meantime, the Enterprise team spent time at local schools as the new year dawns. There’s nothing so refreshing as watching an eager first grader show up school. You wonder what they will become in 20 years.

Here’s what we’ve covered in recent days to give you stories you won’t find anywhere else.
