The latest from the Malheur Enterprise

Good morning and we’re glad you are with us.

Well, we’re heading into the long holiday weekend and there’s plenty to keep you busy.

The attention is on Vale, where you can take in an old-fashioned Fourth of July parade, wolf down pancakes made by the Lions Club, and watch rodeo, starting tonight.

And on the Fourth of July, you can head to Ontario after the day in Vale to take in the fireworks.

Of course, it’s summer and it’s going to be hot, especially in a couple of days. Brace yourself for temperatures forecast to hit over 100 degrees. As always, keep an eye out for neighbors and relatives who don’t have access to air conditioning. Be sure pets get plenty of water – and shade.

And we wanted to share with you a story that KGW in Portland aired on your Malheur Enterprise recently. The story tells why we do what we do for you. To our surprise, Seattle station KING broadcast it as well, generating nearly 200 comments there about the need for trusted information that isn’t biased.

Before you head into the long weekend, here’s the latest news from your local award-winning team at the Enterprise:

A KITTY FOR YOUR HOME?

Dior is a very sweet, playful and gorgeous girl ready to start her happily ever after with a loving family. She is 8 months old.

All of our kitties go home with a “going home gift” of a litter box, food & water dish, toy and a kitty blanket, all of these items have been generously donated.

She is nvaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FeLV & FIV.

She is an indoor cat only for his safety. No declawing is allowed.

Adoption event: Every Saturday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. or by appointment at the Constance McCullough House, 84 N.W. 2nd St., Ontario.

OFCP is also in need of volunteers. Do you have a couple of hours a week to help the kitties?

We also desperately need foster homes.. OFCP provides everything you need. You provide a safe place for them to hang out with lots of love until they are big enough to spay/neuter so they can find their loving forever families. Volunteering and fostering are very rewarding and you are changing the lives of these cats.
