The latest from the Malheur Enterprise

Good morning and we’re glad you are with us.

Nyssa and the surrounding area are still recovering from a powerful storm that swept through the area on Wednesday, June 26. Authorities are assessing the impact but buildings and crops were damaged. So far, no injuries have been reported and power has been restored, according to Jim Maret, Nyssa city manager.

The county at the same time was hit with wildfires, one west of Vale and two southwest of Adrian. The biggest is the Little Valley fire, which by Thursday morning had burned 18,000 acres of rangeland.

Our news team will be working on full reports through the day. Share your account of the storm, including photos and impacts, by sending an email to Editor Les Zaitz: [email protected].
