The latest news from your Malheur Enterprise

Good morning.

The Malheur River is finally dropping after climbing for days above flood stage.

The high water covered some roads and now is draining into farmland around the county.

In these circumstances, your news team at the Enterprise is monitoring developments constantly. We want to be sure you have information quickly when it’s needed – and that it is reliable.

But we’ve been busy gathering other local news as well. Here are some of those stories:

T-Bird and Kato are ready for a new home but for now they live at the Ontario Feral Cat Project shelter in Ontario. (Submitted photo)

CATS: Why not adopt?

T-Bird and Kato are the best of friends. Where there is one there is the other. They are ready to find their loving forever family.

T-Bird, who is almost 2 years old, has been at the shelter since last May. Kato is 3 and has been with us since March of 2021. They are both absolutely awesome boys, although a little shy at first.

Kato is a polydactyl. He came to us with an injured hindquarters that required surgery and had to have his tail removed…He is adorable from his toes to his tail. T-Bird is so soft, his fur feels like silk and he has the most incredible markings.

They need a family that will be patient with them and let them come around on their terms, but they will be so worth it.

They have been neutered, are UTD on vaccinations and tested negative for FeLV & FIV.

Come meet this pair on Saturday to see if you have found your newest family member.

SATURDAY ADOPTION EVENT: Every Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Constance McCullough House, 84 N.W. 2nd St. in Ontario.
