Nyssa to lose over $350,000 in migrant funding over improper enrollments
The state will pull over $350,000 in federal funding from the Nyssa School District’s migrant education program. The loss in funding comes after state officials identified 129 families with 277 children improperly enrolled for the past three years in a program designed to give migrant families extra help to educate their children.

As a result of a lawsuit by the Malheur Enterprise, Malheur County and the corporation overseeing the Treasure Valley Reload Center will pay the newspaper $40,000 and ensure that county employees get training on public records law.
