Nyssa News: Pantry seeks donations, library recruits walkers for OHSU study

The Nyssa Community Food Pantry could use your assistance and with the case lot sale going on at M&W Markets, it’s easy to help. The pantry could use items like ramen noodles, mac & cheese, canned vegetables and hearty soups. Shop local and pick up a few items for the pantry.

Donations can be dropped off Wednesday afternoons or Thursday mornings at the pantry, on the corner 5th and Main Streets.

• Nyssa Public Library, in partnership with Oregon Health Sciences University School of Nursing, is starting a walking group. Participants will be part of a study about group-based walking programs and will be invited to complete surveys and health assessments. The study will last for two years, with participants receiving a Fitbit and T-shirt.

For more information contact Jenny at the library either in person, via e-mail at [email protected] , or by calling the library at 541-372-2978.

• Mark your calendars and plan to check out the St. Bridget’s yard sale on March 24 and 25. They have a little bit of everything. The sale will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. both days at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 504 Locust Ave.
