Coming Up: Pancake supper, mural meeting and more in Malheur County

SUPPER: The Vale Community Methodist Church will hold a free Shrove Tuesday Pancake supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, condiments and beverages will be served. Handmade crafts and San Francisco sourdough bread loaves will be available for sale.

A special raffle item, a hand-turned walnut bowl donated by Alva Mitchell, will be

displayed during the supper. The winner does not need to be in attendance for the drawing.

MURALS: The Vale Heritage Reflections Mural Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the Vale Senior Center. The group is moving ahead with restoration work on the Sagebrush Annie mural at Eastern Oregon Railroad on Longfellow Street, with completion and a celebration expected in the spring.

BBQ: Tickets are on sale for the Vale FFA’s third annual drive-thru barbecue dinner, set for Tuesday, Feb. 28. The meal, featuring tri tip, cowboy beans, roasted potatoes, rolls, corn and cookies – will be offered from 4 to 7 p.m.

Advance tickets are required and are available from FFA members. Organizers urge people to get their tickets soon, as they are likely to sell out.

BROGAN: Corned beef and cabbage will top the menu from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at the Brogan Community Center. The all you can eat meal will also feature potatoes, rolls, broccoli salad, baked beans, pie and beverages.

The cost is $10 for adults, $7 for children or $35 for a family. Therre will be a silent auction and a raffle; those wearing green will get a free raffle ticket.
