JORDAN VALLEY – The food was plentiful, Santa was doing his best to keep track of requests and local actors staged a variation of a holiday play in a holiday event Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Jordan Valley Lions Hall.
The event was hosted by Integra Delamar, billed as “Christmas Dinner Theater and Dance.”
Steaks topped the menu, provided by the local Kershner Meat Company and ended with apple cobbler and ice cream.
About 200 people attended.
Students put on “The Worst/Best Christmas Pageant Every in Jordan Valley,” written by Tara Echave, Jordan Valley drama teacher, who based it loosely on “The Worst Christmas Pageant Ever.”
Integra bought the closed Delamar mine in 2017. Mining for gold and silver stopped in 1998. The company is preparing to resume mining in a region about 20 miles southeast of Jordan Valley. In the past, Jordan Valley served as home for many of those employed in earlier operations of Delamar and most of Integra’s 40 employees now live in the Jordan Valley area.
