Coming Up: Music, Santa, sales and a parade are in store for Malheur County

MUSIC: Treasure Valley Community College presents “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” a concert conducted by Denise Rasmussen, on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10. Tickets cost $10 and are available at the door, with students admitted for free.

All of the concerts will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Meyer-McLean Theatre at Four Rivers Cultural Center.

MEMORIES: Santa Claus will be at Atkinson Dental at 130 Court St. S. in Vale for photos with children from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8. Free photos will be loaded on the Atkinson Facebook page.  

LIGHTS: Vale will light up the evening Dec. 10 with a Christmas Light Parade on A Street. Lineup starts at 4 p.m. and the parade starts at 5:30 p.m. The Vale Chamber of Commerce invites people to bring decorated trucks, tractors, floats, horses and vehicle entries to the lineup at 4 p.m. in the Vale High School tennis court parking lot.

SALES: The Vale Christmas Market is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Dec. 10, and 12 noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11. The event, sponsored by the Vale Farmers and Crafters, will feature vendors and lunch in the Vale Senior Center, 100 Longfellow St. S.

RECOVERY: Four Rivers Recovery is holding an open house at 12 noon Dec. 16, at 279 S.W. 10th St. in Ontario.

TOY TIME: Snake River Produce is hosting a Fill the Bin Toy Drive from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. People can bring unwrapped toys to the business, 810 Idaho St., in Nyssa and get a hamburger or hot dog. 

MANGER: A live Nativity scene will be open for viewing Saturday Dec. 17, at Park Community Church, 193 Holly Road, in Ontario. The hours are 4 to 7 p.m. There will be animals in the manger, and refreshments for visitors.
