Kids in costume stage ‘101 Dalmatians’ in Ontario for evening shows and Saturday matinee

ONTARIO – The story of Dalmatians kidnapped by the mean Cruella de Vil comes to life at the Four Rivers Cultural Center in a production featuring 83 local actors, most of them children.

“101 Dalmatians Kids” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 20 to 22, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets at $5 are available online.

The show is being put on by the Four Rivers Children’s Community Theatre under the direction of Ruthie Carlson and Stacee Sanders. The actors are primarily from Ontario, Payette and Fruitland but some are participating from Adrian, Boise and other communities.

The show started out as a book and then became a Disney movie, released in 1961 and destined to be a hit.

“We had to shut down our theater when Covid hit so this is the first show in three years, and we are so excited to be bringing quality family shows back to our area,” said Carlson. “The cost to attend our show is only $5. We haven’t raised the cost since we started 19 years ago. Great, quality entertainment for the family for a great low price.”
