Youths scout up food donations in Nyssa

Once again, the caring and giving nature of the Nyssa community has been shown.

Cub Pack 450 and Boy Scout Troop 450 held a food drive at M&W Markets as part of a national Boy Scout service project. A total of 586 pounds of food and $611 in cash donations were given in just one day!

Troop leader Ed Petersen wanted to thank M&W Markets for working with the Scouts on this project and said, “The community was very, very generous this year.” The food and cash donations will go to the Nyssa Community Food Pantry.

• Don’t forget the Nyssa Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Nyssa Senior Center. Helpers are needed, as well as donations of food for the dinner. If you can help, call Mary Shelton at 541-212-2987.
