PORTLAND – For the Vikings, it ain’t over till it’s over.
Vale kicked off the state playoffs with a 3-1 win against Catlin Gabel on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Vikings will advance to the quarter final at the state tournament in Forest Grove, with a match against South Umpqua on Friday, Nov. 8.
“Catlin Gabel was a huge team and very offensive,” said Vikings coach Shannon Steele. “We just prepared ourselves to battle.”
Vale finished the match against fourth-ranked Catlin Gabel with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-20, 25-22.
Steele credits the Vikings’ teamwork, communication and tough serving for the win.
