VALE – Malheur County Sheriff Brian Wolfe is inviting the community to take some time to learn about what he and his deputies do and why. 

Next month, the sheriff’s office will once again host its annual Citizens Academy. The academy has been happening for about 10 years, Wolfe said. 

The academy will run for six weeks, and will bring in representatives from several divisions in the sheriff’s office, including patrol, detective, jail and community corrections divisions. The week that covers the jail will include a tour of the facility. 

The final week will focus on the search and rescue division and at the end there will be a dinner for participants.
