NYSSA – Summer lunches for youth age 1-18 have moved from the school cafeteria to Nyssa’s parks.
Lunch is served at North Park from 11-11:20 a.m., Lions Park from 11:30-11:50 a.m., South Park from noon to 12:20 p.m., and at Rio Vista from 12:35-1 p.m. Enjoy some outdoor fun at the park and lunch, too!
If you need some indoor time, the Nyssa Library is the place to be with a continuation of summer reading activities. “Martian Blocks or Moon Rocks” is this week’s activity. The library will be closed on July 4. Next Wednesday, July 10, there will be a movie at 2 p.m.
• Activities at the Nyssa Senior Citizens Center include a dance from 6-9 p.m. this Saturday. The Dale Borge Band provides the tunes. Participants are asked to bring a food dish for the potluck. July 10 is the monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. followed by a potluck at noon.
• Thunderegg Days activities start on Wednesday, July 10, when vendors start arriving. Helpers are needed to set up the quilt show starting at 4 p.m. in Mac Hall. Quilts and fabric art items are needed for the show.
• Another volunteer opportunity comes at the end of the month at the Malheur County Fair. Monday, July 29, is the day entries are received at the fair, with volunteers needed from noon to 7 p.m.
Contact Lynnelle at 541-889-3431 or [email protected] to sign up for a shift. The fair books are out containing all the information regarding exhibits and how to enter your best jam, artwork, crafts, flowers, food, photography, textiles and more.
