LA GRANDE – Three Malheur County volleyball players, who graduated this spring, competed at the Oregon Athletic Coaches Association’s 6th annual All-Star Volleyball Match at Eastern Oregon University Saturday, June 22.
Vale’s Lexi Schaffeld and Jordan Valley’s Regann Skinner and Taylor Warn were on a team led by Powder Valley head volleyball coach Marji Lind.
Lind led one of four teams that included a mix of the state’s top 1A through 6A players.
The team lost their first match, 3-2, but came back and won their second match, 3-1.
Last season, Skinner was named the High Desert League’s player of the year and received all-league first-team honors. Warn was also a first-team all league pick.
Meanwhile, Vale’s Schaffeld was named an Eastern Oregon League second-team all-league outside hitter.
The three athletes will all head to college this fall – Skinner, Walla Walla Community College; Warn, EOU; and Schaffeld at Oregon State University.
