District attorney’s office releases name of man shot early Tuesday

ONTARIO – Two Ontario residents were arrested Tuesday after a man was shot and killed earlier in the day in a house on the 100 block of Northwest 6th Street.

According to the Malheur County District Attorney Dave Goldthorpe, Nicholas Tucker, 20, and Starr Bales, 21, both of Ontario were arrested on charges of murder and conspiracy. Tucker and Bales are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Malheur County Circuit Court.  

Goldthorpe also identified the man who was shot as 21-year-old Raymond Kelly. Kelly was shot in the head in his bedroom just before 12:49 a.m.

Officers and detectives from the Ontario Police Department, the Oregon State Police and the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crime. The Oregon State Crime Lab was also sent the scene to process and gather evidence.
