Migrant leadership program seeks applicants from Ontario, Nyssa

ONTARIO – Students from migrant or farmworker families can apply to participate in the Oregon Migrant Leadership Institute this summer.

Three sessions of the summer leadership camp will be hosted at Treasure Valley Community College during the month of July. Activities will include a rafting trip, college fair, leadership training, games, a talent show, college tours, movie night, scholarship hunting and a career fair.

The first session, July 7-12, will host Intermountain, Nyssa and Ontario middle school students. The second session will run from July 14-19 for Intermountain, Nyssa and Ontario high school students.

The final session will host only Nyssa and Ontario high school students, July 28 through Aug. 2.

The cost per student, at $1,000, will be covered by grants through Oregon Migrant Education, as well as the Nyssa and Ontario School Districts.
