VALE – Wadleigh Park will be brightened up with thousands of plastic eggs for the annual Vale Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday at noon.
Kids will hunt for more than 4,000 eggs filled with candy, money and other goodies at the Easter event organized by the Lions Club and Vale Chamber of Commerce.
The Easter Egg Hunt is free and open to kids up to 12 years of age. There will be a special area for kids 2 years old and younger to hunt for eggs and stuffed animals.
To give everybody a chance to find some of the candy-filled plastic eggs, the event will have areas for four separate age groups: ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.
Children and parents are encouraged to arrive a little bit before the egg hunt’s designated noon start time.
Last year’s egg hunt drew more than a hundred kids, who snatched up all the eggs within minutes, according to Lions Club president Dwight Keller.
The Easter Bunny and the Lions Club Lion will both be present to visit with kids and pose for pictures.
Anyone interested in helping out can still donate filled plastic eggs and drop them off at the Vale Chamber of Commerce, City Hall or Umpqua Bank.
