Ontario woman killed in Oregon Highway 201 crash

An Ontario woman died in a two-car crash on Oregon Highway 201 Wednesday. (Oregon State Police photo).

ONTARIO – A local woman died in a two-vehicle crash on Oregon Highway 201 Wednesday evening, according to the Oregon State Police.

Police said Roberta Chandler, 41, Ontario was killed at about 6:19 p.m. when the Pontiac Sunfire she was driving south drifted into the northbound lane and collided with a Chevy Impala, operated by Sergio Sandoval, 58, of Weiser.

A passenger in Chandler’s Sunfire, Tira Zacarias, 29, of New Plymouth was injured and transported by air ambulance to a Boise hospital.

Sandoval and his passenger, Marina Navarette-Hernandez, 57, also of Weiser, were transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Police said do not know why Chandler’s vehicle drifted into the northbound lane and hit Sandoval.

The Oregon State Police is still investigate the crash. The highway was closed for several hours after the crash.
