Vale Fire and Ambulance hosts annual crab, steak dinner

VALE – The 16th annual Vale Fire and Ambulance crab feed is set for Saturday, March 23, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Vale Fire Hall.

Hungry diners can wade into all-you-can-eat Dungeness crab for $50, get a steak dinner for $30, or a jumbo steak and all-you-can-eat Dungeness crab for $60.

Children ages six to 12 can eat for $15. Tickets are $5 or five tickets for $20 or 30 tickets for $100. Tickets are available at Malheur Federal Credit Union in Vale or at Malheur Drug. 

• The Malheur Gun Club will hold a shoot Sunday, March 17, with meat prizes. The shoot starts at 11 a.m. at the range at 1158 Airport Road, Vale.

St Patrick’s Catholic Church Altar Society will serve soup for donations at a soup supper Tuesday, March 19, a Lenten season fundraiser that reaches outside the U.S. Soup is served from 4 to 7 p.m.

This year’s soup fundraiser will benefit a family in Kenya whose home needs a new roof due to severe water damage.

The altar group also is providing cardboard rice bowl piggy banks to parishioners during Lent. The money collected goes to a food charity.

Seniors can dance to the Town and Country Band this Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Vale Senior Center. A potluck meal also is planned with the monthly dance. The center, at 100 Longfellow St. S., offers noon meals Mondays and Wednesdays, and card playing and other activities throughout the week.
