Nyssa principal set to leave at the end of the school year

NYSSA – Nyssa High School principal Malcolm McRae recently announced that he will resign from his position at the end of the school year.

“I intend to return to western Oregon, where I’ve participated in interviews with multiple school districts,” McRae wrote in an email.

McRae, who has served as principal since the 2017-18 school year, had been a principal at Junction City High School before moving to the Nyssa School District.

“I’m so appreciative of the warmth with which the staff, students, and families welcomed me, and I wish them the greatest of success in the future,” said McRae.

Although he hasn’t announced specific details regarding his move, McRae said he is looking at administrative positions.

The principal’s departure comes after Superintendent Jana Iverson announced her plan to resign at the end of this school year.
