Senator Bentz slated to speak to Vale Chamber Thursday

VALE State Sen. Cliff Bentz (R-Ontario) is scheduled to be the guest speaker at the Vale Chamber of Commerce luncheon meeting this Thursday. 

The session starts at noon at Chabelita’s Restaurant.

Bentz last week was selected to serve as deputy Republican leader in the Oregon Legislature. 

He joins the Senate GOP leadership team that includes Sens. Herman Baertschiger, Grants Pass; Chuck Thomsen, Hood River; Alan Olsen, Canby; and Dennis Linthicum, Klamath Falls.

• Drexel H. Foundation wraps up the year with its annual open house and tours of the Vale Hotel and Grand Opera House from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Dec. 31. The admission fee is $5. Visitors can check out the future art center. 

• Enjoy New Year’s Eve fireworks across town, with the display provided over Rhinehart Butte.

The public is invited to attend the swearing in ceremony for all new elected officers for Malheur County. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at the County Court Office in Vale.
