Jackie Tinges

May 15, 1931~ November 30, 2018

Jack Tinges passed away Nov. 30, at the age of 87, his family with him. Jackie Jean Tinges was born May 15, 1931, in Pontiac, Illinois, to Vernon (Buck) and Mary (Abts) Tinges. As an only child, Jack grew up and worked on his family’s 50-acre farm in McDowell, Illinois. His childhood consisting of hunting, showing 4-H hogs, and (of course) fishing. He met the love of his life, Jan Womack, in 1982 in Bullhead City, Arizona, shortly after he was contracted by Kim Stratton to build greenhouses in Las Vegas. They both worked at the nursery until retirement in 2002. They moved to Jordan Valley to be closer to the grandchildren and were very involved in the community. Along with supporting the athletic program, they enjoyed fishing, traveling, and being amongst family.

Jack is survived by cousin Jay Tinges; nieces Shannon (Tom) Blasdell and Teresa (Kenny) Kershner; grandchildren Bailey (Daniel) Richards, Amber (Mitch) Quimby, Logan (Kailee) Blasdell, and Bryce Kershner; and great-grandchildren Luke Richards, Amaya Richards, Ridge Blasdell, and Janie Quimby.

Services for Jack will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Jordan Valley Lions Den, dessert and refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Jordan Valley athletic fund or the Jordan Valley High Desert Church.
